A WALK ON THE G889 SIDE

By Ann Brill White

(with apologies to Lou Reed)

Devon came from up on the stations.
In the boardroom she could be pure damnation,
But she never lost her head,
even when she was giving... canteen.
Hey, Dev, take a walk on the wild side!
I said hey, Devon, the G889 side.

Uly Adair was just fadin' away,
Wanted out of the suit for a day,
Terrians took him down below,
now you see him go, go, go.
Hey Uly, take a walk on the wild side...

Julia had medical DNA.
Thought she was a Terrian for a day,
'Lonzo says that he's in love,
but we know it's just the glove,
Hey, Julia, take a walk on the wild side...

Alonzo has strange Terrian dreams,
But he wakes whenever True screams,
In the crash he broke his leg,
now Julia REALLY makes him beg,
Hey, 'Lonz, take a walk on the wild side.
I said hey, 'Lonzo, the G889 side,

And the Terrians go: di-di-dididit, di-di-dit, di-di-di-ditidit, (x4)

Devon brought the best mechanic, Danz.
He could do anything with his hands.
Hey, there, John, the Grendler's done!
WE know there can be only one!
Danz says, hey True, get me a wrench...
Hey, Danz, take a walk on the wild side.

His daughter, True, was a little brat.
Had a Koba, thought it was a cat;
Gave O'Neill two days pause,
when it hit him with its claws,
I say hey, True, scream somewhere else...

She brought along a cyborg name of Yale,
He was part machine, the rest was male,
When he went to Reilly's place,
he thought he saw cyberspace,
Hey, Yale, take a walk on the wild side.

Morgan was a station bureaucrat,
Takin' bribes, whinin' and gettin' fat,
What Bess sees in him no one knows,
but Grendlers like his taste in clothes.
I say, Hey, Morgan, shut the hell up!

And the Terrians go: di-di-dididit, di-di-dit, di-di-di-ditidit, (x4)

Bess was born a coal miner's daughter
Married Morgan just to leave her father,
Inhaled pollen, it's no lie.
Now she's heading north - bye bye!
Hey, Bess, take a walk on the wild side...

Walman and Magus rarely get the lines,
And ya know, it really is a crime,
But for Baines, we will pass over,
'cause he's locked in the TransRover,
I say, hey Baines, get outta the Rover!

Earth 2, as we know, is no more,
Sunday nights will really be a bore,
It will be no fun for me,
watching Seaquest DSV,
I say hey, PeeBee, take a walk...
I say hey, PeeBee, WE'LL BE BACK!

And the Terrians go: di-di-dididit, di-di-dit, di-di-di-ditidit, (x4)
