Well, I was excited to hear that our favorite southern belle, Rebecca Gayheart, would be on one of my favorite shows, Sliders. My review can be summed up in three words - MORE SCREEN TIME!
Rebecca did really well with what little screen time she had. While Time and Again World was a really good commentary on Constitutional freedoms versus State control, I thought that our girl was very underused. This episode of SLIDERS didn't hang together as well as some that I've seen. There were more plot holes than usual. It took me a while to figure out that her character was the daughter of the Constitutionalist judge. The choice of RG's "getaway car" was pretty sad, too. A banana-yellow convertible? Reeeal inconspicuous if you're trying to hide from the cops. And, my third complaint is about SLIDERS in general. Why does Quinn always get the girl on all of the worlds that they slide to? Wade should smack him upside the head! Of course, Quinn would be a fool NOT to fall for RG's character, Natalie. The end, however, was a nod to all of us hardworking fans on the Internet that gave SLIDERS a second chance, and tried to save Earth 2. I LOVED the fact that the Constitition was spread over the Internet! What a great shot at the Communications Decency Act, too!
In short, RG did a good job with minimal screen time. And, the ending implies that we MIGHT see her again. We can only "keep hope alive".
