KOBA-TV Reviews The Big Hit

With Antonio Sabato, Jr.

Maryland J. Koba here, still catching up on all of those backed-up tapes that we've missed. Hey, a Koba's gotta do SOMETHING while avoiding the impeachment hearings! So, on with the review of The Big Hit.

I think this movie can be summed up in three words - Antonio Butt Shot!! Yes, all of you Sabatistas, at 4:30 into the movie, you get a lovely shot of Antonio as nekkid as the day he was born. Let's just say that he's got some VERY nice buns. :) :)

As for his character, we don't see much of him. ASJr plays Vinnie, one of four hit men on a team managed by Avery Brooks. It was a hoot to see Captain Sisko as an evil crime lord for a change! I almost expected to see a baseball on his desk.. Anyway, Antonio and his three compadres pull of a hit on a rival crime boss. Only, Mark Wahlberg's character does all of the work, and Lou Diamond Phillips' character (named Cisco!) takes the credit. Most of the movie is a stunt duel between Wahlberg and Cisco. Antonio is only in about three scenes, but he bares his... um... SOUL to the camera at every opportunity.

The Big Hit is a fun but violent romp, with plenty of action sequences and a hot soundtrack. The characters, unfortunately, were less complex than in the average cartoon. But then again, if you
want little things like plot and characterization, you're watching the wrong movie. I give The Big Hit four bare butts out of five. And no, the fifth one is NOT Avery Brooks'!
