Of course, that's not saying a lot. Maybe it's just me, but I can't figure out what this show's appeal is. I've read some things that say that it's not as good as it was last year, so that may be it. This is the first time the KOBA-TV staff has watched Ally, and we can't help but wonder what all of the fuss is about.
ASJr plays Kevin, a male escort who works for Ling, the bitch- goddess of the office. Ally hires him to make her old boyfriend jealous. Kevin is a surprisingly intelligent and professional guy who knows his business. He asks Ally how "far" she's willing to go to make her ex jealous. When asked if she'd mind kissing him, she visualizes slurping his head down into her mouth. (No, not THAT head! Get yer mind outta the gutter!)
The best (or worst, depending on your POV) scene was at a party at the bar they seem to frequent. Ally shows up with Kevin, and her ex shows up with a bombshell, too. Ally's plan backfires and she winds up being more jealous. Then suddenly Ally and Kevin are singing karaoke and making kissy-face. (Note to Mr. Sabato: NEVER sing on-camera again!) Then her ex and the babe get up and put on a show-stopping song, to be followed by the blonde bimbo who can't sing. Har-har. Finally, Ally develops a crush on Kevin and asks him out. Unfortunately, he prefers to keep his relationships strictly business.
Callista Flockhart certainly shows why she put the "nervous" in anorexia nervosa. I got tired of watching her jump around like a nervous sparrow. And that thing with her sleeves is downright annoying! As for any rumors of off-screen chemistry with ASJr, well... I didn't think that Italian men liked scrawny women. Maybe Mamma Sabato can feed her some pasta and fatten her up!
As for Antonio, he did a good job with the material he was given. He was a good stud-with-a-brain, and we hope that he will continue in this role next season. I give him four karaoke machines out of five, for making the best of a bad situation.
